A snake at the house of Prime Minister
NEW DELHI: Z-plus security around the prime minister's house couldn't prevent an intruder from crawling into the complex and holing up in its backyard. Thankfully, the unwelcomed guest was spotted in time and safely remanded to custody.
That, in a nutshell, is the story of a snake found in 9, Race Course Road complex at 9 am on Friday.
The brown-coloured reptile had apparently managed to enter the backyard of PMH from the Teen Murti lane side.

The backyard houses sheds for CRPF jawans, one of whom spotted the crawling intruder.
Though CRPF guards are trained to deal with snakes, fire department and a rescue team had to be roped in as the snake chose a strategic place to hide.
"The snake took shelter in the roof-pipe which supports the shed's asbestos sheet," a guard on duty said.
"Initially, we took it to be a poisonous krait that is similarly brown in colour with white stripes. As it was hiding in a thin pipe, NDMC workers and fire department were informed to deal with the matter."
The reptile soon felt unwelcomed as more and more guards poured in to peer inside the hole. One fire engine and Wildlife SOS reached the spot at 10.30 am to rescue the snake.
